The Days, The Hours, The Moments: Day 149 ~ Technical Difficulties and Cracked Screens!

Yes, I used the above gif a week or so ago but it so perfectly fits how I’ve felt today. Oy!

I started painting again this morning only to have to spend 3 hours on the phone to work out a technical problem. It’s fixed, thank God! THEN, sigh, I cracked the screen on my iPhone…

Yes I know I used this one in the same post as the other one last week , but IT JUST SO FITS!

I have been a T-Mobile customer for nearly 20 years AND I HAVE NEVER CRACKED A SCREEN! Oh sure I drop it from time to time but I have a heavy duty military grade phone case (The guy in the store said when I got it 2 years ago for my first ever iPhone, “You can throw your phone against the wall in this baby and nothing will happen to it!” No, I never tried it!). I also got an expensive (for me) screen protector (Well I’ll be 65 next month, I have really bad feet, and I kind of totter, and teeter, and walk unevenly, and sometimes my mind wanders!). I have dropped the phone a few times and it has always remained in perfect condition. I love my phone, it is my lifeline, and I am very careful with it. But, well, stuff happens. I don’t even remember how it happened, a sudden, shocking, heart-wrenching moment. I think I blocked it out!

Of course I have insurance and they are sending me a brand new iPhone (which is SUCH a waste, I’ve “had” my iphone for 2 years now in a manner of speaking. This month is my last payment on the iPhone.) But in January my phone went all screwy, suddenly developed a number of problems overnight, and after, and I mean this, hours and hours and hours over several days on tech support they said it was an issue with a recent system update, it had happened to a lot of people, they were so sorry, and they sent me a new phone. No charge, they even reimbursed me for a new screen protector, which was lovely. When I sent the old one back it looked brand new after over a year and a half, there wasn’t a scratch on it. So to crack the screen on this iPhone I’ve only had for 2 months completely unnerved me, I looked like BOTH of the pictures above, and I had to talk to T-Mobile twice, Apple once, and finally the insurance company to set up the replacement. For a $99 deductible. And all of these calls, after 3 hours with techs for tech support, took over another 2 hours.

I quit. I am not going to do anything else for the rest of the day that is useful or productive in any way whatsoever. I will soon feed Molly and myself and after I walk her I am going to binge watch my new series that I only started last night and am madly in love with. It’s free on amazon, there are 3 seasons, and it’s Mr. Robot with Rami Malek who just won the Best Actor award for Bohemian Rhapsody. I LOVED that movie, I was madly in love with Freddie Mercury and now I am madly in love with Rami Malek! And he is amazing in this show. Yes, binge-watching Mr. Robot. That’s all I’m good for for the rest of the night.

I hope you’re having a better day than I’ve had. Be careful with your phone. Carry it inside of a pillow from now on. You’ll regret it if you don’t!

  1. Sorry for your scary day, Maitri. Yes, just relax with lovely Molly and pick up your drawing and painting whenever you want! That’s the nice thing about being your own boss…whenever you want is a great time to start or stop. Hugs, Memarge

    • Thanks Marge honey, it was a harrowing day, as some days are, but it’s a new day now and I’ve just sat down here with my coffee and Molly in my lap. All is well! I hope you have a wonderful day honey…

    • Thank you lovely Ka, and yes, spring! BUT yesterday while it was an amazing 75 degrees I woke up this morning to 39! Had to bundle up to walk Molly and put her sweater on her. Now we are at the desk, with fresh coffee, she is snuggled in my lap and a new day begins. Onwards and upwards!

      Happy Spring dearheart!
