The Experiment: Day 63 ~ Quiet Days, Holy Days…

Some days we can do nothing but sit in the present moment and breathe. And remember, in each moment, despite perhaps hard and painful things happening around us, that this moment, despite it all, it precious. That is how I am spending this day.

I have lit a candle for all of us today, for those who are celebrating a lovely Thanksgiving with their families I am so happy for you, I wish you well, I send you joy. For those of us not having a Thanksgiving this year, I wish everyone peace, and ease, wherever you can find it. It’s what I am doing today. For those of you in other parts of the world where Thanksgiving isn’t a thing, I am wishing you a wonderful day and hoping that bright blessings might find their way to you. I lit this candle for all of us. Gaze at it for a few moments, breathe deeply, in and out, let your body relax, be at rest, at least for this moment.

I am still holding the space, for my darling one who is suffering, for all in the world who are suffering, for those who are alone and lonely, and for those of you that are having a happy, loving family time I pray that you are fully awake to the miracle and the blessing that is. Don’t take it for granted. Tell those around you how much you love them, enjoy and treasure every moment.

Light a candle, say a prayer, for peace in your heart, for the ability to make it through the next hour if these are hard times, in gratitude if you are richly blessed, and pray for the whole world, that there may be some light in the darkness for those going through hard times, and that we may each do what we can to do kindnesses for others.

Each one, reach one, and love, always love…

  1. Thank you Maitri. ❤️❤️❤️

  2. Thank you, so beautiful. Love to you and the pugs. x

    • Thank you so much Jenny, I hope you had a beautiful and blessed day today Jenny honey. And Happy Holidays to you… 🙂

  3. Thank you, Maitri, for a beautiful reminder of counting blessings and practicing gratitude in good times and hard times (and being present in the moment).

Sending Thanksgiving peace and good wishes to you and the pugs. Woody had a lovely hike with us this morning, and is now being grateful snoozing on the rug.

    • Thank you so much sweet Lisa, I hope you and your husband had a lovely Thanksgiving, and how sweet Woody is. Where would we be without our furry companions? I hope the holidays ahead are beautiful for you too. Will you be traveling this year? You go to the most wonderful places… 🙂

      • Sending all good thoughts, Maitri. We have had a nice Thanksgiving.

We’ll be swapping our house with a family group from Charleston over Christmas, so we’ll be there for a week — it will be nice.

And we’re heading off various other places in the year to come, too. Thank goodness, Woody has a great extended family, thanks to our vet partnership, to stay with while we’re gone. Otherwise, it would be hard.

Woody made quite a few folks happy as we looped through downtown this evening before dinner, the few tourists and homeless folks alike. Tim took a dinner back to a young fellow who was sleeping on the street this evening (he’d cleverly plugged into an outdoor plug, so he was watching a Netflix movie). This fellow had come back to visit his mother in West Asheville, but was then headed back to Florida.

There is a lot to be grateful for, in good and hard times. Tim said he enjoyed the turkey, dressing, yams, and Brussels sprouts that I’d cooked for our dinner.

        • Oh Lisa it sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am so touched that Tim took dinner to that young man. And oh! Charleston is so lovely, it will be a beautiful place to spend Christmas. I’m so glad you enjoyed your day honey. And I can’t wait to hear all about your travels in the year to come. You guys take the best trips! I’m sending you love and a gentle warm hug. All good blessings to you and Tim and Woody… 🙂

  4. Thank you dear Maitri 💕
