Silent Night

=”font-weight:>

Hail Mary, full of grace.

Our Lord is with thee.

Blessed art thou among women,

and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,

Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,

pray for us sinners,

now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

My mother was a lifelong devout Catholic. At the end of her life she saw Mary sitting on the bed holding her hand. I see no reason to doubt these visions and miracles. Death is a holy mystery, and I offer this song and this prayer up to my mother, whom I love with all my heart, now, and at the hour of her death. Amen.

  30. Thank you for your kind words on my site. You know, I followed the story of your mom and at times it was so hard for me to read – particularly towards the end – because it reminded me so much of my grandmother’s last weeks. It is so hard to watch someone so beloved prepare to leave this world. I think one of the greatest things that makes it bearable is knowing that they were women of faith.

    God Bless!

  31. What a great tribute. I pray that you are surrounded by God’s comforting arms this Christmas season and that you are overwhelmed with love, comfort, and joy be those around you.

It reminds me that this is the first Christmas without my father-in-law. He passed away in April 2009. BIG HUGS!!!

  32. Oh how marvelous, for her to have had that vision of Mary being there with her at the end of this life (and the beginning of her next life).

  33. Thank you dear Maitri, I greatly enjoyed these words. I never heard them in English because I am Lithuanian. Thus your text expanded the message over my heart. Merry Christmas!

  34. Oh, Maitri. All is calm now and yes, it is bright in the arms of Jesus. She is at peace. I hope this finds you at peace with her death as well. Love and hugs, pally. Prayers to you during this difficult time.

  35. A beautiful post. I know you were ready for her passing but I also know you will miss her, Mum’s are just such special people. You are in my thoughts.

I apologise for my delay in commenting.

  36. Maitri – I’ve been reading about your mother’s long end of life stretch. I know she was ready to go, but that doesn’t necessarily make her loss any easier. I’m thinking of you.

  37. Also my favorite Christmas Song. Rest in peace dear Lady.

  38. Your mother must have been a wonderful person. I am sure she appreciates your tribute, which was wonderful by the way.

  39. I think it must be very comforting to know that Mary was with your mother when she passed away. To know she had such a wonderful escort to heaven is such a blessing.

  48. Dear Maitri,
I am catching up and so just now read of your mother’s passing. You have my love and sympathy at this time. And I thank you for posting my own mother’s favorite Christmas song. She was also a Margaret (but born in 1915) and I lost her in Oct. 2000. She told me during the end that she could feel her mother’s hand holding hers…and I thought of that when I read that your mother saw Mary. Your comments about it all were beautiful and lucid and mean the world to me during this season of love.

  49. God bless Maitri, and big hugs to you!

  54. My condolences to you and your whole family.

  55. Sorry for your loss, don’t be sad, your mom is together now with the almighty in a much better place.

  56. Praying for comfort for you and your family.
